21 November: Lecture Hernan Diaz Alonso


On 21 November, we will have Hernan Diaz Alonso talk in the lecture series ‘In Form’. Diaz Alonso is the Principal of LA based office Xefirotarch and Chair of the Graduate Programs at the SCI-Arc.  Hernan Diaz Alonso, who is considered one of the most influential voices of his generation, will speak about ‘Rituals of Form’.

Before becoming the Graduate Programs Chair at SCI-Arc, Diaz Alonso has amongst others taught as a design studio professor at Columbia University GSAPP. He has lectured extensively at major institutions around the world, and his work has been included in various exhibitions like the Venice Architecture Biennale, London Architecture Biennale and Archilab.

His architecture designs have received numerous awards and have been displayed in both architecture and art museum exhibitions, such as New York MoMa and the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been published in magazines and periodicals worldwide. In 2005, Diaz Alonso was the winner of PS1 MoMa’s Young Architects Program (YAP) competition. Publishing house Thames and Hudson is currently preparing a monograph on his work.
