This Monday we will address the subject of air pollution in the series ‘The Next Decade’. Greenpeace campaigner Zhou Rong will give a lecture titled ‘Can you hold your breath for 10 years?’.

Zhou Rong is a climate and energy campaigner at Greenpeace. She studied Atmospheric Science in Sun Yat-sen University, and has a diverse experience in Chinese environmental policies, clean factory production and media. She worked in the Guangzhou Environmental Bureau for 5 years and was a senior manager working on Corporate Social Responsibility at Southern Weekly before joining Greenpeace.

Greenpeace is a non-profit and non-governmental organization with a presence in 40 countries, working in East Asia to fight climate change.

In her lecture ‘Can you hold you breath for 10 years?’ Zhou Rong will talk about the health impact of PM2.5 air pollution. She will give an overview on pollution in China and explain how China’s unique energy structure is linked to the problem. Zhou will further talk about self-protection and solutions to address air pollution.
